Salman Khan fails to beat Shah Rukh and Aamir Khan in the box office race

Bajrangi Bhaijaan earned lavishly, but it wasn’t enough…

Salman Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan kept its promise with the box office last weekend. Everyone knew the film was going to be a smash hit and perhaps Salman’s biggest blockbuster. It earned lavishly at the box office which made everyone in the industry very happy. With only a handful of films in the first half of the year making money, BB’s massive collections worked as a balm. But despite earning copiously, Salman failed to defeat Shah Rukh Khan’s record. BB has earned 102.6 cr on its opening weekend whereas SRK’s Happy New Year took home 108. 86 cr. In fact, BB stayed behind Aamir’s Dhoom 3 as well which earned 107.61 cr!
Many were expecting a 30 crore opening day turnout but BB fell short of that mark and earned 27.25 crore, but Saturday and Sunday made people grin ear to ear with 36.60 cr and 38.7 cr respectively. But despite such plush collections, it couldn’t level Shah Rukh’s score. It also couldn’t match up to Aamir Khan’s Dhoom 3 first weekend total either.

But all you fans of Salman Khan out there, don’t lose heart. So what it couldn’t go beyond HNY’s total. Do remember that Salman has as many as eight 100 crore films in his kitty while Shah Rukh has five followed by Ajay Devgn. So it’s time to cheer him! To aaj ki party kisiki taraf se?! 

Vidya Balan, Juhi Chawla, Meenakshi Sheshadri And Others At Navbharat Times Event

On Saturday, June 28, Bollywood celebrities such as Vidya Balan, Juhi Chawla, Kailash Kher and many more were spotted at the felicitation program by Navbharat Times for their contribution to Indian Cinema held in Mumbai.

 Vidya Balan attended felicitation program held by Navbharat times in Mumbai. The actress looked gorgeous in maroon coloured saree. The actress was recently seen in film Hamari Adhuri Kahani opposite to actor Emraan Hashmi.

 The actress looked flawless in her desi avatar. Vidya let her wavy hair down. The actress avoided adding extra bling to her outfit with heavy jewelry, and rather chose to go simple.

 For the awards show night, Bollywood actress Juhi Chawla chose Anita Dongre pink outfit. The actress let her soft curls down and finished her look by pairing her dress with Anmol jewelry.

 Juhi kept it minimal with a hint of make-up and jewelry. The colour game was on point and we absolutely loved Juhi in this pretty outfit, which is paired with a silver clutch.

 Singer Kailash Kher was also one of the celebrities who attended the event that took place in Mumbai on Saturday.

 Kailash became talk of the town recently after a song from upcoming film Baahubali, which is sung by him released. His soulful voice in the song ‘Jal Rahin Hain’ captivated audiences completely.

 Bollywood veteran actress Asha Parekh was also present at the awards show. Asha Parekh happens to be one of the legendary Bollywood actresses. The actress looked beautiful in her rich pink saree.

 Another one of the legendary actresses, Meenakshi Sheshadri was also spotted at the awards show. At first, it is hard to recognize as the 52 years old actress still looks young as ever.

 The actress is well known for her performances in films like Damini, Shahenshah, Hero, Ghatak: Lethal and many more. At the awards show, Meenakshi kept it casual and simple dressed green lace top over black pants.

Maharashtra’s Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis attended felicitation program by Navbharat Times for their contribution to Indian Cinema. Surrounded by security, the CM was later snapped by shutterbugs.

Recently, at a radio show, both the actors confessed about a rumour each that shocked them too! While Ranveer spoke about the 10 crore rumour, Priyanka squashed a mineral water fib!
Ranveer said that during Band Bajaa Baraat, his debut movie, rumours were doing the rounds that his father paid 10 crores to YRF! Well, Ranveer can’t stop laughing at it now but it really hurt the actor then when he was new to the whole Bollywood scheme of things. He was even hounded on social media by people to tell him how did he manage the same so that they can give it a try too. Priyanka on her part revealed that a newspaper carried a story about her demanding a mineral water rain during a shoot which really upset the actress.

Kangana Ranaut And Imran Khan Grace The Katti Batti Trailer Launch

 Kangana Ranaut seems to love the vintage look; the lead actress of the film Katti Batti Kangana was looking all classy and beautiful in a Delphine Manivet trousseau. The pale yellow dress looked magnificent on the Queen star.

 Imran Khan who likes to keep it simple and comfy was seen in formal wear. The cream like color was suiting the star too well. Actor Imran shared, “I had a very efficient working relationship with Nikhil and Kangana and this film is very close to my heart.”

 The producer of the film Katti Batti Siddharth Roy Kapur kept it semi-formal at the trailer launch. Must say, Siddharth Roy Kapur is looking cool and at ease in the light colored shirt and denims. Good choice!

 Director Nikhil Advani decided to sport a rich black vest over a white shirt at the trailer launch event. The director is credited with the films like Kal Ho Naa Ho, Salaam-e-ishq etc.

 Musician Shankar Mahadev’s son Siddharth Mahadevan was also present at the trailer launch of film Katti Batti wearing blue colored tee and black pants.

 The leading actors of the film Katti Batti Kangana and Imran posed happily for the shutterbugs.. The Queen actress shared with the media that, “one cannot tell the genre of the film, whether it is a tragedy, coming of age love story or it’s a slice of life.” She added that she is very happy with the film.

 Tanu Weds Manu star Kangana was seen interacting candidly with the media. When asked about love, the actress replied, “every time a relation doesn’t start on a very clear platform. She says, “Just at the start of relationship marriage and long term might not strike.”

 The talented actress Kangana was captured during the wrap up party of Katti Batti. In a high collared white shirt and plain black skirt. The actress looked adorable as she kept her tresses open and prettified it with a hair band. We like!

 Imran Khan attended the wrap up party with his wife Avantika Malik. The couple looked extremely wonderful together. Imran and Avantika’s daughter recently turned one and the proud parents are all smiles for their little angel.

Salman Khan ready to quit Twitter for Shah Rukh Khans sake

We know how Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan have humongous fan bases on social media and that these fans are forever at loggerheads with each other trying to put the other Khan down. In their wake to support their hero, fans often cross the line saying nasty things about other actors and even get abusive at times. But Salman is mighty upset with his fans for making Twitter an ugly place.
The Bajrangi Bhaijaan actor expressed his anger through a series of tweets last night warning fans that he’ll be off Twitter if they don’t stop fighting. He said in his tweets, “Messed up fighting over yr hero’s vit each other. make this journey beautiful, dint sign up fr this ugly twitter war n not a part of it . Continue it n I vil b off twitter. Came here to spread love, share sm thoughts hv fun vit fans not for them to insult my fraternity. Hut.”

That’s not where he stopped. He further asked his fans to stop using foul and abusive language for anyone, especially anyone from within the film fraternity and show some respect for other artists. He also urged fans to spread love and not hatred. This is what his next few tweets read…
