Yes, you heard it right; you can catch the first glimpse of Salman Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan tomorrow on May 27. A trade analyst took to the twitter account revealing the news that the trailer is likely to be released on May 27. He tweeted, “First one to see something sensational. Can u guess what? My lips r sealed till Wednesday. But it is S-E-N-S-A-T-I-O-N-A-L! Believe me!!

 Kabir Khan and Salman Khan reunite to create the magic again: After success of ‘Ek Tha Tiger’, director Kabir Khan has teamed up again with Dabangg Khan in upcoming film Bajrangi Bhaijaan. The shooting of the film has been taken in Delhi, Rajasthan, and Kashmir.

 Unique Storyline: Bajrangi Bhaijaan is an action romantic drama film directed by Kabir Khan, and produced by Salman Khan and Rockline Venkatesh. It features Salman Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in lead roles, and deals with a romantic relationship between a Brahmin Hindu girl and a Muslim man. The actor plays the role of the character that is fond of little children in the film. Salman Khan will also been seen in a special song where he will be seen dancing with little children who play the role of god Hanuman.

 Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor jodi: After the massive hit Kick which released last year on Eid, there is tremendous anticipation on the actor’s first film that is set to release this year. More over Salman Khan will be seen back with Kareena Kapoor Khan after their last film ‘Bodygaurd’. Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan’s jodi is all set to burn the big screen once again.

Eid release: Salman Khan’s movies are expected to release on Eid and are pre occupied by the actor. Like always, even this year Bajrangi Bhaijaan is slated to release during Eid. The film is slated to release on July 17, 2015.

Salman Khan has just revealed that he will no longer be a part of Karan Johar’s much talked about project Shhuddhi.The superstar, who had just wrapped up shooting for Bajrangi Bhaijaan, took to twitter to announce that Varun Dhawan has replaced him in Shhuddhi. Salman, sharing a childhood pic of Varun tweeted,” Kamaal karte ho Varun Dhawan…made ur dad n me so proud of u… happy Shhuddhi”.

 

Confirming the news, Karan Johar tweeted,” And finally..SHUDDHI starring VARUN DHAWAN and ALIA BHATT…directed by KARAN MALHOTRA..@Varun_dvn @aliaa08 @karanmalhotra21 @DharmaMovies”.  And so at last we know that it is Alia Bhatt who will play the leading lady in Shhuddhi.
Replying to Salman’s tweet, Varun tweeted,” Thank you Bhai @BeingSalmanKhan I promise to make you proud #shuddhi” .
Looks like the ABCD 2 star is going places. Now that he has stepped into Salman’s shoes, we will have to see whether he can live up to people’s expectations. Meanwhile, we will try to figure why Salman walked out of Shhuddhi.

Anurag Kashyap’s ambitious project Bombay Velvet has finally hit the theatres today. While most B-townies have been going gaga over the film on Twitter, will this one pull in crowd to the cinema halls? More importantly will it witness a good opening or will Piku’s good run at the box office play a spoilsport? Read on to know…

Bombay Velvet starring Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Karan Johar has finally released after much delay. The big budget film was to come out last year however it got delayed and makers decided to release it this year. Ever since the Kashyap announced the project, it has been in the news for all the wrong reasons. However, since its coming together of RK and Ms Sharma for the very first time, everyone has been eagerly waiting for BV. Not to forget, the Dharma head honcho is making his acting debut with this one and that’s another reason why Bombay Velvet managed to to create some buzz. But here are few elements which could work against Anurag’s latest offering

Niche genre
While Ranbir and Anushka’s pairing is indeed appealing, Bombay Velvet belongs to a niche genre and though our industry has come a long way, the audience is still not accustomed to this space. And this could very well affect its box office prospect.
Piku and Gabbar Is Back dominating the box office
Also, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan and Irrfan Khan starrer Piku which released last Friday is going rock steady at the box office. Gabbar Is Back starring Akshay Kumar in the lead is also pulling in crowd to the cinema halls despite running in theatres for two weeks. Though Bombay Velvet is one of the biggest releases of this year, it could face some competition from these two films as they have had a dream run at the ticket windows so far.

Expert Advice
We asked exhibitor-distributor Akshaye Rathi about Bombay Velvet’s fate and here’s what he said: “While Bombay Velvet doesn’t seem like an out and out commercial entertainer, the presence of Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma should certainly help it get a good draw at the box office over the opening weekend. Unfortunately, the music of the film has not worked at all and its a factor that will have an impact on the film’s business. Piku will certainly sustain well over the coming week, but it won’t make much of a dent in the business of Bombay Velvet, as the showcasing at cinemas will predominantly favour the later. Our industry has gone through a rough phase off late and for the sake of the trade, I hope the film does well.”
Well, since B-town celebs have been raving about Bombay Velvet, the expectations are high from the Anurag Kashyap directorial. But only time will tell how far the film will go in the numbers game. So all we can do now is – wait and watch
